A G2 geomagnetic storm watch is in effect for October 9, which may result in visible aurora borealis across nine U.S. states. The phenomenon could be seen from Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin. Residents are advised to find a spotless area away from urban areas to view the celestial display. The NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center issued the warning.
