ITV News reported on 9 October that the UK and its allies backed the International Criminal Court in response to US sanctions aimed at the tribunal. The move signals a clear split between Washington and its traditional partners over the court's authority.

The decision by allied governments to publicly back the ICC came shortly after the US introduced restrictive measures against the body. Analysts have noted that the divide may put pressure on longstanding diplomatic relationships between Washington and its allies.

Separately, King Charles footed the bill for Prince Andrew. The arrangement prompted comment given the ongoing questions surrounding the prince's public role.

The PSNI also forwarded correspondence to Northern Ireland First Minister Michelle O'Neill in connection with a Garvaghy Road protest linked to the long-running Drumcree dispute. The letter suggests the possibility of a formal police interview, bringing fresh tension to a dispute that has remained unresolved for years.
